Retro Doughnut Wedding Cake Topper

I saw this awhile back on Style Unveiled and totally forgot to share it with everyone. I think the bride and groom were cops (thus the doughnut cake), but I think it would be perfect for a 50's wedding theme.

The rest of the wedding was more retro, so you should definitely go check it out. Seen any other great 50's ideas anyone?

Another use for iphones - a cake topper?

I couldn't resist this adorable and unusual cake topper. They would have had me at the chocolate cake, but the iphones with their pictures on top was just too unique to not share it with everyone. I've seen this done with Polaroids or the classic Cell Phone Fanatic cake topper, but this couple has definitely brought that concept into the 21st century.

So, what happens if the bride or groom need to call someone during the pre-wedding chaos? Or worse yet, what if someone who's not invited to the wedding calls them right in the middle of the cake ceremony? What is the proper etiquette - answer the phone or let it go to voicemail?

Unique Calla Lily Centerpiece all Curled Up

I've never seen this website before, www.flowerpicturegallery.com, and just stumbled across it. Looks like a community just for sharing flowers.

I love the way the calla lily is curled up in the vases. Looks relatively simple to do, but I'd bet it isn't!

We have a few of these types of vases in our Wedding Centerpieces section of the shop, so you could always try to do it yourself if you're brave!

What's New at Just Weddings

We loaded the store with some new products today at Just Weddings and I just had to share my favorites with you.

Number 1 has to go to the Circular Sensation Glass Vase. It is the most unusual vase I've seen, where you can put flowers in at different levels.

Number 2 goes to the Golden Lac Box Place Card Holder, which is an absolutely stunning Asian style favor box and place card/photo holder.

Number 3, a difficult decision, goes to the Damask Origami Favor Box Kit. I guess you could call this Vintage Japanese Inspired? Elegant and fun for everyone to open.

There's a lot more to check out so stop by our Wedding Shop, browse, and let us know what you like best.

P.S. If you are a Country and Western gal, you have to see the rustic, chic Western Romance Cake Topper!!

Ideas for Unique Funny Wedding Cake Toppers

Check out the latest Squidoo lens about finding unique, funny wedding cake toppers.

Come see some of the ones we've added to our store also, in the Funny Wedding Cake Toppers section.

My popular favorite is the Bride Dragging Groom Cake Topper. I haven't quite figured out why yet, but it seems that the bride dragging the groom off to the altar is a joke that has been standing the test of time. Kind of sad, don't you think?

Wedding at Dunkin Donuts - Love that coffee!

Ok, so I know their coffee is good. But, how bad does your caffeine addiction have to be to decide to have your wedding at a Dunkin' Donuts?
For this couple in New Jersey, it had to be pretty desperate.

Looks like the donut ladies were have a great time. If there was ever a great location for a donut wedding cake, this is it. I'll have 2 dozen munchkins to go please!

Beautiful Alternatives to Traditional Wedding Altars

Take a look at some of these creative alternatives that people used instead of a traditional altar for their wedding ceremony. Cap Classique did an amazing round-up that is seriously worth looking at for ideas, especially if you are having an outdoor wedding. The one above is from 100 Layer Cake and was for a Literary Garden Wedding.

I love the last one, from Cap Classique themselves, in which they created their own chandelier-like backdrop from what looks like pieces of fabric. Incredible!

All the best,

Sharyn

Continuing international creativity month, we have put together a few ideas to inspire you. Take a look and then grab your little French phrase book...

There is nothing quite like the atmosphere of Paris to make every girl dreamy-eyed and bring out the romantic side in even the most cynical guy. I would love to go crazy with this theme, but try not to go too overboard with all those Eiffel towers. One or two is plenty.

A Feast of Wedding Cupcakes

Hold me back! These wedding cupcakes looks so incredibly yummy that I'd want to try each one if I was a guest at that wedding. The browns and pinks are a beautiful color combination too, and the designs on the cupcakes really liven up that traditional color scheme.

As Marie Antoinette said, "let them eat cupcakes!"  Okay, so I took a little literary license on that one.

P.S. Need some pink wedding ideas? Check out the new Pink Wedding section in our store.

Find a funny wedding cake topper for those cupcakes too. One of the most popular is the Bride Dragging the Groom cake topper.

When your cake is just too eco-friendly

They said to never turn your back on your wedding cake. I say, 'just bring it indoors'. This is a great reason to keep the reception inside where you don't have to share your food with the critters.

Wedding Inspiration from Greece

Have you ever dreamed of a destination wedding in Greece? Here are some beautiful ideas to draw from. The turquoise blues, aqua, and bright whites alone make me want to hop on a plane and escape from everything!
